Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The following is a list of frequently asked questions and their answers.
- How do I get into contact with you?
- You can e-mail me at .
- What is it that you do, exactly?
- My expertise is delivering information to your customers. I'm mostly a writer--including manuals, presentations, newsletters, flyers, Web content, and editing--but I also do Web design and graphic design. That makes me a freelance writer and more. Bottom line, if you need it presented in print or on the Web, I'm your guy.
- How do you add value to my project?
- First, I bring 8 years of industry experience in business, public sector, and technology writing/editing. I've designed complete manuals, Web sites, application interfaces, and a myriad of other communications tools. When you bring me onto your project, you get all of that experience.
- Second, I've developed a process that ensures success. Part of this process is a project plan that clearly states what I will deliver, when I will deliver it, and how much it will cost. This helps get everyone on the same page.
- Third, unlike some other writers who come to a project with a one-size-fits-all mentality, I take the time to understand you, your business, and your customers so that the materials I provide are specifically tailored to meet your needs.
- How much do you charge?
- Every project poses its own unique challenges that can impact timing and pricing. As a result, I can only provide an estimate after I understand the scope of your project. That's why there's no pricing information on my Web site. When you do decide to bring me onto your project, I'll work up a project plan to ensure everyone knows what to expect and when to expect it.
- I want a copy of your resume, Sean. Can I get it?
- I have technical writer and business analyst resumes on this site. Either click the resume link in the navigation bar or jump right to my resume from here. You can then download a resume in your favorite format.
- Can you write an article for my publication?
- Sure. Just let me know what you want, the deadline, and other details. I'll get back to you ASAP.
- Why does this site use JavaScript?
- This site uses JavaScript to change the current layout, make it harder for spammers to find my email address, and to run a few small bits of functionality. The site is still usable without JavaScript enabled, but it won't be as neat. Don't worry, none of the JavaScript collects any information about you, but it does place a cookie on your computer to remember which layout you've selected.
- Is this site really xhtml valid?
- Yes. Unfortunately, the host adds code at the end of every page to track site statistics. Without this code, the pages are valid.
- How did you become a technical writer?
- Well, this is an interesting story that I've included on my site.
